It is well known that it is one of the most stressful events you can go through in life \u2013 even though it is often a&nbsp;step toward something better. Whether you move frequently or are moving for the first time, many of the tasks involved may seem minor. We offer you a&nbsp;few tips that can help you save space in your storage unit and protect your belongings.<\/p>\n<h2>Kitchen:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Put spices or other small items inside pots.<\/li>\n<li>Defrost the freezer several days in advance to make cleaning easier.<\/li>\n<li>Place the toaster in a&nbsp;plastic bag.<\/li>\n<li>Put kitchen towels between plates.<\/li>\n<li>Place all liquids, such as dishwashing detergent, in plastic bags.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Bedroom:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Leave clothes hanging on hangers and cover them with a&nbsp;garbage bag. Tie a&nbsp;knot at the top.<\/li>\n<li>Instead of folding clothes in drawers, roll them up.<\/li>\n<li>Roll up mattresses and wrap them in plastic sheeting or cover them with garbage bags.<\/li>\n<li>Put belts or other small items inside shoes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Other parts of the house:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Take photos before disconnecting cables from the TV or computer so you know how to reconnect them.<\/li>\n<li>Divide moving boxes into two groups: one for heavy items and the other for lighter items.<\/li>\n<li>Label your boxes. You can write on them, attach an item list, or color-code them by category.<\/li>\n<li>If you disassemble furniture, place the fittings (e.g. screws) in a&nbsp;bag and tape it to one of the disassembled parts.<\/li>\n<li>Keep in mind that even if your storage is short-term, you may need to return to the unit for some items.
